01

What we collect

When you create an account with email, we store your name, email address and a securely protected version of your password. When you continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. One Good Place never receives your Google password, Gmail messages or Google Drive files.

We also store the places, photographs, stories and location details you choose to publish, together with community actions such as visits, vouches, saves, friend connections and reports.

02

How we use it

We use account information to sign you in, show who shared a place, keep your score and connect you with other explorers. Published place information appears on the public world map so other people can discover and visit it.

We use reports and activity signals to prevent spam, resolve duplicates, moderate unsafe content and improve the experience.

03

Cookies and security

We use an essential session cookie to keep you signed in. It is not used for advertising. We apply reasonable technical safeguards to protect accounts and stored information, but no online service can promise absolute security.

We count visits to understand how the site is used. We store only daily totals by country, using the country supplied by our hosting provider. We do not store visitors' IP addresses or individual browsing histories for this counter. Your browser's session storage helps us avoid counting the same tab repeatedly; no advertising cookie is used. We respect Do Not Track.

04

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal information. We may use trusted service providers to run the website, database, image storage and sign-in. They may process information only to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect people and the community.

We keep account and contribution data while your account is active or while it is reasonably needed to operate, secure and document the community. Backups and moderation records may remain for a limited period after deletion.

05

Your choices

You can ask to access, correct or delete your account information and contributions by emailing us. You can also disconnect One Good Place from your Google Account at any time. The service is not intended for children under 13.

06

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date on this page and provide a clear notice when a change materially affects how your information is used.
